1. General characteristics of the profession

Consultant to the head of staff development, personnel policy and crisis management strategies. Conducts psychological training for managers and staff of the company.

2. Official duties

The list of professional duties of this specialist looks more than solid. And, indeed, coaches are the elite. Coach is usually a specialist working on request. The term of its activity in one company rarely exceeds 3-6 months. But during this time he has to work really "by the sweat of his face". The classic situation in which coaches are resorted to to professionalism looks like this: the company's profits have dropped dramatically, and managers know for certain that this is not due to the machinations of competitors, but to some kind of disruptions and problems in the work of the staff. The coach must hold conversations with the management team, ordinary workers, perhaps organize monitoring and, based on the information collected, develop a strategy to solve the problem: dismiss someone, encourage someone, conduct special trainings, and in case of emergency even replace staff . According to the professionals themselves, the coach is a “nurse for a manager who is sufficiently advanced to understand that he is not God.”

3. Qualification requirements

In Russia, there are no universities that produce specialists of this profile. In order to become a coach, you will have to get a higher education as a psychologist, sociologist or manager, but the main thing is to gain experience in, so to speak, the preparatory position of HR manager.
