Classification of semiconductor devices
Semiconductors are devices that are based on the use of the properties of the pn junction.
1. Resistors
2. Diodes
3. Transistors (BPT, PT, JGBT)
4. Thyristors
5. Chips

Semiconductor devices are devices whose work is created by applying the properties of semiconductors.
Separation of semiconductor devices is shown in Fig. one.
Semiconductor resistors and diodes have two leads and they belong to two-electrode devices, transistors have three leads, and therefore they belong to three-electrode devices. Thyristors are also spirit-and three-electrode.
Semiconductor resistors are made of isotropic semiconductor substances. The electrical characteristics of such resistors are the electrical qualities of a homogeneous semiconductor. Diodes use semiconductors with different types of conductivity, forming a single pn junction. The electrical characteristics of the diode depend on the electrical properties of this pn junction.
Bipolar transistors have two pn-junction. The electrical characteristics of such transistors depend on the mutual influence of these transitions. In field-effect transistors, semiconductors with different types of conductivity are used, which form only one pn junction. But compared to bipolar transistors and diodes, the electrical characteristics of field-effect transistors are determined by the mutual influence of the pn junction with the isotropic channel.
Thyristors use semiconductors with different types of conductivity, forming from three or more pn-junction. These characteristics of thyristors depend on the mutual influence of such transitions.
In photoelectric devices, the effect of generating light and changing the electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices under the influence of optical radiation is applied. Combined semiconductor devices consist of several different semiconductor devices placed in a single package.
Semiconductor chips are microelectronic products that perform certain work of signal conversion and processing, all parts and connections between them of these products are made inside and on the surface of a semiconductor.
