Touch or not touch?

Attitude to touch during a conversation depends on the nationality of the interlocutors. For example, the French and Italians constantly touch each other during a conversation. The British prefer to stay away from each other. The only exceptions are football matches, when the players are defiantly hugging in front of many fans. This behavior of British, Australian and New Zealand athletes gradually begin to copy the South Africans and Europeans. After each goal, the players rush to each other, begin to hug and kiss. Similarly, athletes behave in locker rooms. When the British, Australians or New Zealanders leave the field, the usual restraint is out of the question.

Dr. Ken Cooper analyzed the frequency of touch in different countries. Most often, residents of Costa Rica (180 touches per hour) and Paris (110) touched each other. In Florida, Dr. Cooper recorded only two touches per hour, and in London he did not wait at all.
Based on our own data and personal experience, we can give you a small list of countries where touch is practiced, and those where it is better to refrain from such behavior.
