Mathematical models for describing static characteristics of errors in programs

Lecture

By analyzing and summarizing the real-world expert data, several mates have been proposed. models describing the basic patterns of change in the total number of secondary errors in programs. These models are probabilistic in nature and are based on the assumption of a rigid connection between the following parameters:

- the total number of primary errors in the program package;

- the number of errors detected per unit of time in the process of testing and debugging;

- the intensity of the distortion of the results per unit time at the output of the program complex during its normal functioning due to primary errors.

All these 3 indicators are linked by a certain proportionality coefficient. Currently described several mat. models. Exponential mat. program error distribution model. It establishes a connection between the three parameters listed above.
