Lecture

Relationships formed at the beginning of the conversation, in the course of her develop, change and largely depend on the ability of the interviewer to direct the conversation. For the success of its journalist is very important to learn to listen to his companion. To be able to listen is not to take everything that is told, without interrupting or asking questions. Sometimes you need to send a conversation - the journalist is not indifferent to what material he receives, and time, as a rule, is limited. Managing the course of the conversation is a complex matter that requires a great deal of experience, knowledge and tact. Manage the conversation should be carefully, directing it in the right direction. If the interlocutor answers in the wrong way as the journalist would like, you can rephrase the main question and thereby debug the focus of answers. When the interlocutor responds in general terms, without citing specific facts, examples, does not express a personal point of view, the journalist must also intervene, since such statements do not carry information from the interview. Therefore, the most important thing is that questions should be structured in such a way as not to cause trivial answers. And to avoid this you need the very knowledge of the subject and general preparation, which was mentioned above, but also taking pictures of your interlocutor, interest in him, his reasoning, his emotions, discoveries that are not planned appear in the interview.

Conclusion of the interview

The interview is coming to an end. This moment is psychologically interesting because the interviewee relaxes, the tension subsides, he feels freer. At this time, he may recall something important, drop some interesting remarks, supplement his story. The journalist should be attentive to the final words, not to miss the significant that they may contain.

Saying goodbye, the journalist should not only discuss the possibility of a second conversation just in case, but also make it clear that the meeting was interesting, fruitful, that the interviewee had done his task well, because the person had spent time. Efforts, and he must feel that he did it not in vain. In addition, in this way, the journalist lays the foundation for further meetings with this person for himself and his colleagues.
