The membrane contains passive and active sites.
Passive membrane has the ability to conduct
deviations of the potential at any point from the equilibrium
values to other points with attenuation proportional
to the distance. In the active membrane spreads
wave regenerating, excitation due
volt-dependent changes in the conductivity of ion channels.
