Semantic and syntactic information.

Lecture

Semantic and syntactic information.

Signs and signals, organized in a message, carry information not because they repeat the object of the real world, but by public agreement about the unambiguous correspondence between messages and objects. Information based on the unambiguous connection of signs and signals with real-world objects is called semantic (semantic). The information contained in the order of the characters is called syntactic. Practically, semantic information cannot be measured, since the same messages are often ambiguous. And syntactic information is measurable and through it you can get information about semantic information.
